சுகுமாரனும் நா.விச்வநாதனும் (பாதசாரி) கோவையிலிருந்து இதற்காகவே வந்து தங்கியிருந்து பார்த்தனர்.

அப்படி என்னதான் நூதனமான விஷயத்தை அதில் சொல்லிட்டான். ஒரு கிராமத்தில் ஒரு வீடு. அந்த வீட்டில் இருக்கிறவர்கள் பிரிதல், கூடுதல், வம்ஸம் விருத்தியாகிறது. குக்கிராமம் ஊராகி நாடு வல்லரசாகி போர் புரிந்து சுடுகாடாகி திரும்ப மறுபிறப்பெடுத்து தனது பொருளாதாரத்தைக் கட்டியெழுப்பி தனக்கும் இடைப்பட்ட வீழ்ச்சிக்கும் சம்பந்தமே இல்லை என்பதாக மீண்டெழுந்து இவ்வளவுக்கும் இடையில் இளம் பெண்ணாக இருந்த ஒருத்தி காதலித்து குழந்தைகள் பெற்று கணவனைப் பிரிந்து வேறொருவனோடும் குழந்தை பெற்று அவனையும் விபத்தில் இழந்து இருபது வருடம் கழித்து வீடு திரும்பிய கணவனை வேறு யாரோவாக பாவித்து முதுமையடைந்து இறக்கிறாள் .
1980களில் படம் முடிகிறது.

கதை 1919ல் முதல் உலகப் போரிலிருந்து சிமோன் வீடு திரும்புவதில் தொடங்குகிறது.
கதையின் நாயகி மட்டும் 20 லிருந்து 80 வயதுவரை ஒரே பெண்.
முழுமையாக உருப்பெற்று வந்திருக்கும் பாத்திரங்கள் மட்டுமே முப்பதைத் தாண்டும். கோட்டோவியமாய் நான்கு கிறுக்கலில் எழுந்து நிற்பவை மட்டுமே 50 தைத்தாண்டும். ஆனால் சிறு குழப்பமும் இருக்காது, யார் யார் என்னென்னவாக இருந்தார்கள், இருக்கிறார்கள் என்னவாக ஆகிறார்கள் என்பதெல்லாம் தெளிவாக இருக்கும். பதட்டத்துடன் குறிப்பேட்டைப் புரட்டத் தேவையில்லை.
DVD எங்கே கிடைக்கும் என்று மட்டும் கேட்காதீர்கள், அதைத்தான் நானும் 86 லிருந்து தேடிக்கொண்டிருக்கிறேன்.

Schabbach is now connected to the telephone network. But Lucie is far from content with the pace of her husband's progress. Consequently, she ingratiates herself with the district's new Gauleiter, who not only shares Eduard's surname, but also his interest in photography. Exploiting their new Party connections, the couple moves to the neighbouring village of Rhaunen, where Eduard becomes mayor and Lucie commissions a luxurious villa - paid for a loan from a Jewish bank in Mainz...

Robert returns from buying jewellery and shows them the death's head rings that are so popular with the Todt crew...

Maria has died and the family has assembled in Schabbach to pay their respects - including Paul and some relatives from Brazil. However , Hermann almost misses the funeral and arrives in the village during a torrential downpour to see his mother's coffin abandoned on the road...
Some episodes seem to be softer and grainier than other, over all they are quite acceptable. Black and white sequences tend to be much crisper with nice rendition of blacks. Occasional dithering and artifacts are occasionally present but within an acceptable level. Audio is also up to par and subtitles appear to be well translated.
Note: Manu on Disc 6 has wrongly titled Episode # 10 as "The Proud Years" instead of "The Front Years".
